Step 8. Download all the files you need:
After downloading, unzip the ODIN into a folder.
Step 9. Run the ODIN program EXE file in the extracted folder.
Step 10. You should see a blue-highlighted box with random COM number. If you don’t see this, run the Samsung USB driver EXE program to install drivers.
Step 11. Choose “AP” then choose the TWRP file you downloaded earlier.
Step 12. Hit “Start” and as son as you see “RESET!”, IMMEDIATELY hold down Volume Up, Center Home, and Power buttons together.
You should now be in TWRP recovery. If you mess up this step, just repeat Step 12 until you get it.
Step 13. Copy over Magisk and Samsung AntiRoot Removal files to your Note 5.
Step 14. Tap on “Install”.
Step 15. Choose the Magisk file.
Step 16. Tap on “Add more Zips”.
Step 17. Choose Samsung AntiRoot Removal file.
Step 18. Swipe to install both files and root.
Step 19. Reboot system!
Choose “Do Not Install”.
Step 20. Once rebooted, install phh’s Superuser from the Play Store and also update Magisk Manager.
UPDATE: Google has removed Magisk Manager app from the Play Store, which you will need, just grab the Magisk Manager APK here and install it manually.
Step 21. You can verify you have full root by installing Titanium Backup app from the Play Store. If you see Superuser request window like below, congrats! You have fully rooted your Note 5!
